Charlotte County Chapter

CA-R-MA Charlotte County Chapter was founded in 2008. That first year we Trap-Neuter-Returned (TNR) 63 cats.

Fast forward to 2017 and our latest record-breaking year – 321 cats spayed/ neutered and rabies vaccinated  – that is 45 cats more than our previous record in 2015 of 276 cats.

When you consider how quickly a cat colony will grow if not spayed and neutered (1 pregnant cat will produce 16 within 18 months), you can understand what an positive impact we are making for Charlotte County!!

Since 2008, in total CA-R-MA Charlotte County have spayed and neutered 2,008 cats  and cared for numerous colonies ranging from 3 to 40 cats, providing shelters, food, and medical care.

We also adopted out 67 cats in 2016 and 2017 final numbers to come.  Knowing that so many cats who want to live inside with people are now in loving homes makes all the effort worthwhile for us.

And it is all thanks to you !!  thanks to the people who donate, thanks to the people who adopt, thanks to the people who rescue, trap, foster, fundraise with us and thanks to the businesses who support us :

  • The veterinarian offices (Calais, Mayfair, St. George Vet and Fairvale) for their compassionate medical care for our cats
  •  Pet Valu Quispamsis and Pet Valu Fairville (Westend) for their fundraising generosity and caring and sensitive help in finding our friendly cats loving, forever homes

Our number of volunteers varies.  Want to join our team and make a difference???
