Pets-a-monials

Stephen and I adopted Siren (who was renamed Ginger) last summer. When we first brought her home, she spent the first several days hiding, terrified, under the guest bed. Our other cat, Buffy, snorted, hissed and let her know she wasn't welcome. Well.. have things ever changed! It didn't take long for Ginger to come out of hiding and for Buffy to discover her new best friend. Now, you'll catch the two snuggling, taking turns cleaning each other's head, and wrestling! And Ginger, what a nut bar! She has more toys than a toddler and rules the roost, just don't tell Buffy!

Buster - I moved into a new house in the spring and the house came with a cat that would sleep on my deck. He was very shy. I noticed his ears were infected so I enlisted Ca-r-ma's help on trapping and having this handsome boy checked out by a vet. I was concerned about bringing him in without help as he was very timid and an outdoor cat. I already had two cats and did not wish to put them at risk. The ear infection caused his ear drum to burst and he is most likely deaf in that ear. Due to his ear issue he needed some TLC. Well he won me over quickly and is a big lovable baby. My other two had a hard time at first with a new cat in their territory but now they are all partners in reminding it is feeding time! Thanks to Ca-r-ma I have a wonderful addition to my fur family.
We adopted Max the cat last December, he was formally known as "Lenny". Max has been an awesome cat, as my husband would say, he is the cat that you would see in TV commercials for Cat Food. He is very friendly and cuddly. He enjoys laying in front of the computer keyboard whenever he sees Steven trying to type. He is like a puppy because he likes to wait at the door for our arrival. He has been able to travel to our camp, the cottage and both grandparents homes. He has been invited to visit in Fredericton at the cousin's house this year. Everyone who has ever met Max thinks that he is adorable.
We are so grateful for having Max in our lives, so we will continue to help out Car-ma- Saint John as best we can. We encourage others to adopt a kitten or cat from this organization.
Genevieve wrote: "adopted a kitten from Ca-R-Ma several months ago, we were not sure that he would steal our hearts the way Fuzzy did. Our 18 yr old, Sandy , went to kitty heaven last year. We were still in mourning when Fuzz came into our lives. He livens up every second of our lives, including our 14 yr old, very nasty(at times) Ms. BaBa the ruler cat. it still is hard for Fuzz to relax around strangers , he runs to his "safe" home in our basement, where he has all HIS toys, bed etc. This is our first meeting with a feral cat, and it takes time to adjust for the animal as well as for our household. It is worth all the time it takes to have them trust you, they are so clean and they are already housebroken. After only 5 months, Fuzz asks to be rocked in HIS favorite rocking chair, pushes Mom off her lazy boy, stretches on you and falls asleep. He does NOT like to be picked up, but he will get up on you when he feels like doing so. This was the best decision on all our part to adopt this wonderful "little boy" who only weighs about 14lbs at what we guess to be 8 months old. We LOVE FUZZ..."
